High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)    Therapeutic ultrasounds have been used in medicine for decades in pregnancy and physiotherapy.

Ultrasounds have been used after that in beauty therapy to improve blood flow.   HIFU is much different from regular ultrasound as mentioned above by being very high in energy. In fact, they are so high in energy they can make the target cells (fat cells or adipocytes) literally explode.  HIFU has first been used in military applications before being extended to medicine for non-surgical prostate cancer destruction.

HIFU now through research is used in the cosmetic industry, to blast and destroy fat cells. HIFU work by making fat cells vibrate so much they start hitting against each other and eventually collapse. The fat released and cellular residues are then naturally processed by the body (liver and lymphatic system) and eliminated.

Radiofrequency is when electricity is used over a certain frequency, to create deep warmth in the tissues treated, that could reach up to 60 degrees. The temperature achieved is INTERNAL heat you can sense by touching the treated area and feel the sensation beneath the skin.   The skin in contact with the RF tip is not directly affected. A specifically designed RF caffeine type cream is used in conjunction with the probe, to intensify the fat melting and skin tightening results. How many treatment sessions will I need?  We recommend anywhere between 8 and 12 treatment session, each session can take from 20 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the size and number of areas you wish to have treated. How long before I see the results of the treatments?  Usually patients notice changes within 4 sessions but depending on how your body responds to the treatments sometimes it can take longer for the results to manifest.

How much does it cost?  Prices for RF packages vary based on your shape, your desired outcome and number of areas to be treated.  It ranges from $179 – $350 per session.    It can be purchased in packages at a reduced rate.
