A fat melting machine at first sounds like something out of science fiction and it may very well have had a foundation in someone’s dreams. Do a quick Internet search and you will find these machines are being promoted everywhere and in various forms. One even looked like an arcade game with what appears to be “guns” setting on the top idling awaiting the next person to pick up. It does sound like science fiction the closer you start looking into the machine. It is easy to see some future doctor saying, “Well, you have added a few extra pounds. Hold still a moment while we melt those away.” The future is apparently here now.
The fat melting machines were developed by plastic surgeons and at the very basic concept the design is set up to melt fat off the body. It is being promoted as “safe, painless, and easy” all the keywords that people love to hear. Keeping in mind there are several different variations of this machine on the market, the one being promoted by some plastic surgeons uses ultrasound to melt away fat. It was tested on pigs and results were extremely promising before it was used on humans.
The concept of the machine is simple. The targeted area is identified and the machine points to that area using ultrasounds. The fat is broken down and absorbed back into the body and out as waste. Currently recommendations are to do just under a pint of fat at a time. It then takes about two to three weeks for the body to absorb the tissue and dispose of it. At that time, additional treatment can be given.
One of the top manufactors of these new machines is UltraShape. Located on the Intrernet at the first image that hits the viewer is a young woman in a bikini presumably showing the after picture from using the machine. An online video will explain the machine’s ability and plenty of written material indicates that this particular machine is “safe and effective,” “long lasting” and “clinically proven”. The site claims there is no recovery time. The benefits of this machine may mean that many people could complete a treatment on their lunch hour and return to work without complications.
Seems too good to be true and there are those opposed to the use of the machines. Some have called the machines, Thermage, and claim that they leave lumps and have a large group of people claiming they are not satisfied with the results. It is recommended that someone considering these machines, consult a knowledgable physician and maybe even consider a second opinion. After all, we may not be as far into the future as we thought we were and caution will apply today just as well as it will a hundred years from now.
