We all know I’ve been trying to for the last two months; I’ve been furiously cheating on Diet Chef, have barely used the treadmill that’s lived in my living room for the past 6 weeks, had aromatherapy treatment to try and curb my appetite, sank various juice diets… and so far have shifted a grand total of 5lbs.
Don’t get me wrong, 90% of this is sheer laziness and entirely my fault, the other 10% can be attributed to an accident with my oven door that has left a gaping hole in my arm and a grazed chin that looks a little like a beard if you catch it in the wrong light – I guess looking like a homeless person doesn’t do much in terms of motivation.
So given Christmas is drawing closer and I’ll soon be in competition with the New Year’s Resolution Brigade to show some results, this exciting new partnership with couldn’t have come at a better time.
Sculptlite is run by Harley Street-trained Lisa Owens, and offers non-invasive Fat Freezing Treatment (or Lipoglaze) in the comfort of your own home throughout the Berkshire / Surrey area*. She’s a Lipoglaze® Harley Street trained technician, and a specialist in remedial and relaxing therapies, as well as intensive post cosmetic surgery aftercare.
Fat Freezing is the latest celebrity beauty treatment that offers a real opportunity for people to reduce those stubborn fat areas that just won’t shift no matter what they try. It’s not a fat-loss solution, it’s there to help contour your body and permanently erase built-up stores of fat that have accumulated on your body; be this on your tummy, flanks, arms or thighs.
Interestingly, something that most of us don’t realise is that fat cells do not tend to generate after puberty. When people put on weight the fat cells simply get bigger or smaller as their weight fluctuates. With this in mind, that teenage body we all secretly lust after is achievable with a little effort.
The story of Cryotherapy is an interesting one. The discovery was made when observing children eating ice lollies – it appeared to cause a hollowing effect on their cheeks. After extensive research (approved and backed by the FDA), it was found that fat was more sensitive to cold than muscles, nerves and skin, and underwent a cell death process (also known as Apoptosis) when exposed to sub zero temperatures. Lipoglaze® therefore freezes and thins the subcutaneous layer of fat using controlled ICE therapy, without risk to surrounding tissue.
After exposing the fat cells to cold, they become terminally injured and gradually die over time. Lipoglaze is therefore a permanent reversal procedure that will liquify and crystallise fat. Your lymphatic system will then help break them down so they naturally waste away.
First things first – Lisa is a seriously lovely woman. Coming to my home is always a risk; Dexter will show off, and Heidi will root through your handbag. At the consultation stage however, there’s no need to get a babysitter. Lisa tiptoed around Dexter’s Duplo and Micro Machines with ease and had a cuddle with Heidi whilst we nattered about the treatment.
I interrogated her on the science above and shared my skepticism, yet within seconds I was getting excited. She was professional to the core and really knew her stuff. She was able to talk me through scientific studies in a way I could understand, and set my mind at ease that there will be no nasty side effects.
Before coming round, I had been sent a link to check my . Having had a Cesarian 9 months ago, I was already aware I might not be able to have treatment on my tummy area, but having recovered with ease there was still some hope I’d be eligible. Unfortunately however, my stretchmarks from carrying Heidi were still a little too fresh.
Despite the disappointment, it is actually hugely reassuring (and refreshing) that she refused me treatment. Less scrupulous companies would have taken my money and ran. I’ve heard some really sad stories about clients being shuffled into rooms like cattle, being asked to lay down (not advised as it stretches the skin unnecessarily and places undue strain on the stomach) and receiving zero aftercare. I have no doubt at all that this won’t be the case with Lisa.
Well I’m having my flanks (muffin tops, love handles… or whatever the PC term is nowadays) done in just a few weeks time. It can take anywhere up to 12 weeks for me to see a result, but don’t you worry, I’ll share lots of images with you as soon as I start seeing any change. If my body responds well to the treatment, I’ll be having my tummy done in a few months time.
It’s worth me saying, I’m not expecting to be bikini-ready in a few months time, this is just a little push to get some some of my waist back. I’m under no illusion that there’s some hard work ahead, but I will be in size 10/12 jeans by this time next year.
Well if you live in Berkshire or Surrey, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled from more posts from me, as I’ll be hosting a giveaway in the New Year to win some treatment of your own (worth £295!).
In the meantime, head to for another chance to win! (Ends 24th December 2014). Oh and you can also say hello on !
* she does (by arrangement) go to other areas within reasonable distance – just don’t expect her to travel up to Scotland!
