A really quick post. Just wanted to say that I love hotels abroad that prevent you from leaving the lights on when you leave your room. When you enter your room there is a slot for your keycard, which allows the lights to be turned on. When you leave, you take the key out and in a couple minutes all of the lights in the room go off. Brilliant, and so simple. Makes me wonder why we don’t do this in our hotels. Also makes me wonder how hard it would be to have some type of similar technology in our houses, with a master switch near the front door (or the door to the garage) that allows you to shut off all of the lights in the house — although some people might choose to have a light or two left on if they are departing at night. Take basic solutions like this and multiple them a hundredfold and we would be on the road toward a more secure future.
