WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., — The 71st annual American Academy of Dermatology was held at the beginning of March, 2013, at the Miami Beach convention center, and Envy Medical Inc., was there to present exciting new product offerings and to consult with the nation’s leading dermatologists on the best treatments for their patients.
“This was an exciting congress for Envy,” noted Felipe Jimenez Ph.D., Envy’s Chief Scientific Officer who was on hand throughout the congress, “as we were able to present advances in the treatment of difficult skin conditions such as stretch marks and truncal acne with the SilkPeel Body system, as well as the launch of an exciting acne treatment technology under our new ClarityMD acne solution brand.”
SILKPEEL BODY ADVANCES: Dermatologists have identified the need for better tools in treating skin conditions on the body that are not readily addressed with existing topical or even laser therapies. The is an expanded set of adjustable treatment heads which Envy has developed to aid in treating larger surface areas such as the back, abdomen and limbs. Early adopting physicians have been working with this technology since it’s introduction and have documented compelling results in treating a variety of skin conditions, beyond those initially contemplated. Excellent results are being achieved in treating chest and back acne, as well as stretch-marks, texture and tone issues all over the body. Other physicians have reported strong results using SilkPeel BODY on its own or as a combination therapy for Keratosis Pilaris (hard plugs/bumps that form typically on the arms and upper legs), and in reducing the appearance of cellulite.
ClarityMD Acne Solution: The Envy team was also very pleased to announce the birth of the new . A simple two step system for treating both inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne, with PCX technology, a patent-pending breakthrough in delivering anti-microbials down to the base of the pores where acne starts, in a manner that does not cause dryness or irritation to the skin.
In fact, a recently completed six week with 25 patients with mild to moderate acne showed 56% clearance of inflammatory acne within seven days, over 90% clearance in just 14 days, and near complete clearance of 99% over the six week period. Even the visible presence of blackheads in skin improved significantly, with over 50% clearance over six weeks. This is compelling because it is significantly faster clearance than the leading professional acne brands, or even those studies published on prescription topical treatments. At the same time, it holds great promise as an effective treatment because patients in the ClairityMD study actually saw a decrease in redness, dryness and irritation through the course of the six week study.
“That is significant,” noted Dr. Jimenez, “because it would indicate the potential for patients to be more compliant in following the daily usage guidelines, thefore ensuring better results and greater patient satisfaction, even outside the controlled environment of a clinical study.”
The launch of ClarityMD to AAD Dermatologists was accompanied by the introduction of a new patient/consumer outreach program as well, including the website, PR initiatives, media outreach programs and that is being promoted via social networking to raise awareness across the United States and Canada.
Envy is also in discussions with international distribution partners to make the ClarityMD acne system available to consumer patients around the world.
Lumixyl’s New Product Preview: With respect to Lumixyl, the company also gave a sneak preview of the new that will launch June 1st through participating SilkPeel and Lumixyl provider dermatologists, cosmetic dermatologists and medical spas. These convenient pads contain the Lumixyl peptide, Decapeptide-12, and are a fast, easy delivery vehicle for more brightening power.
