Brush your teeth, brush your hair, brush your… body? Yep! If you haven’t heard of dry brushing, get ready to have your world rocked.
Dry brushing is a holistic beauty technique that helps smooth cellulite while giving your skin a super model glow! When brushing the dry bristles across your skin, you stimulate your lymphatic system and increase blood circulation. This helps move and flush out the toxins in your body so it’s a great way to add a little extra detox to your routine. Body brushing also provides major exfoliation making your skin baby-butt smooth.
How to Dry Brush:
Choose a brush that has natural bristles that aren’t too stiff (the softer, the gentler— I prefer just a slight bend to the bristles). I also recommend a long handle so you can skip the contortionist act and reach every inch. You can find skin brushes at most health stores!
There are a few different methods out there, but I keep it simple by just starting at my feet and working my way up to my neck. Use quick strokes (and not too much pressure!), always working in the direction towards your heart or bottom to top and back to front. It’s the same for arms, just start at your hands and brush up!
**Booty Tip: I like to go over the ‘cellulite prone’ area—ass and back of thighs—extra thoroughly since I love my teeny bikini bottoms and definitely want to avoid any dimples back there!
Post skin brush, your skin might be a little pink and you should feel a slight tingly sensation all over! It might feel weird at first but the rush gets addicting! It’s best to always take a shower or at least a quick rinse after to get rid of all of the dead skin that might be lingering.
After showering, it’s super important to moisturize! My favorite little routine is to apply a yummy scented body oil () all over right before I dry off and then seal it all in with a thick body butter! Ahhh, so luxurious and silky smooth!
Let me know if you give this a try! I’m telling you, it’s a game changer!!
