Curious about today’s beauty tip? ^_^ Well, I am going to share with you how you can make your own whipped butter for hair and a smart trick of how to fight cellulite using the same product 😉
As you may have already understood from my previous tutorials, I love making my own products at home. 😉 It’s the only way I can get to control what goes onto my skin & hair.
Today’s tutorial is dedicated to one of my favorite hair masks : a rich creamy whipped butter. I have used quite a lot of ingredients but don’t be discouraged by the rich formula, you can get amazing results also by simplifying it! Check out the video-tutorial below for the recipes!
Just remember: in order to get the same creamy texture always maintain the percentage of 40% butters against 60% oils.
As for the essential oils, do not use more than 25 gtt per 100g of product. Essential oils are extremely powerful and should be used cautiously! They will scent your butter and empower it with its wonderful properties.
All the oils & butters can be found in supermarkets or even more easily online <3
Instructions:
– always melt first the cocoa butter as it is the only butter that it requires quite some time to melt down
– once you got the cocoa butter melted, add the other butters over the water bath and keep them only for a few seconds just until you see they started to melt otherwise you risk to waste some of their properties due to the high temperature.
– once you got all of them melted, whisk them for a few seconds, then let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the butters to become cold. Only now you can add gradually the vegetable oils while plainly whisking. Let it rest for 30 minutes or if you’re in a hurry to get your whipped butter 😉 you can place the mixture in your freezer for 3/5 minutes.
Take it out and whisk and place back in the freezer. Repeat this at least twice and you’ll see how quickly the texture changes under your eyes and it becomes fluffier and creamy-like 😀
The used oils and butters have incredible properties for both dry or damaged hair, uncontrollable frizz or dry lock and for oily hair .
The essential oils used in this formula are especially recommended for oily hair with dry tips (you may apply the butter also on the scalp, but I would not do it more than once a month to avoid getting greasy roots).
Most of the oils already have vitamin E included, but I added some liquid vitamin E as an anti oxidant as it prevents the oils from going rancid and it will help to extend the shelf life. It is also very nourishing for your hair or skin.
The color of your whipped butter depends a lot on the intensity of the butters and oils you’ll use. The yellow/cream like color I obtained is due to the strong green-yellow color of the avocado oil and flaxseed oil. If you wish to obtain a white whipped butter make sure to use less colored vegetable oils.
The whipped butter you’ll finish with is rich in vitamin A, E, F, K and it will protect your hair from weather damage caused by wind or humidity and extreme dryness or sun damage. It will also help you prevent split ends and restore your hair’s moisture and vitality. Your hair will be conditioned from within and you’ll feel it stronger and silkier!
It’s a great mask for summer as it provides lasting protection against dehydration.
BUT the great trick about this whipped butter formula is that you can easily convert it into a cellulite fighting body butter! Just add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch to obtain a less greasy result on your skin and should you wish to get a nicer/different color add some rose oxide. Your skin will be moisturized, nourished, smoother and most of all, firmer.
Of course cellulite can’t be fought only with a home remedy, you’ll have to combine this cellulite booster with a workout routine, good hydration by having a healthy diet and drinking lots of water or green tea. Water flushes toxic waste from the body to help prevent cellulite from occurring while vegetables high in lecithin like: tomatoes, spinach, cauliflower, oranges, apples and iceberg lettuce are great in fighting and reducing the appearance of cellulite.
Remember, as I have already mentioned in the video tutorial, do not apply this whipped cream on your skin if you are going to expose yourself to sunlight, ultraviolet light or sun beds after application. Some of the essential oils (lemon, orange) are phototoxic and products containing them, if left on the skin and then exposed to sunlight, they can cause the sun’s effect to be greatly magnified and you absolutely risk to get sunburned.
I hope you’ll enjoy these naturally packed with antioxidants deep moisturizing whipped butters. Feel free to use your imagination and substitute any ingredient to personalize your own whipped body butter. ^_^
