A treatment that’s lighter than lipo

It’s often the way: no matter how committed you are to exercise and how careful you are with your diet, some areas of fat just sit there.

Or, insult to injury, your amazing effort to shift that fat is rewarded by loose and saggy skin. Liposuction is a possible answer – but it requires a general anaesthetic and, even then, can still leave the same skin issues behind.

What is BodyTite ™?

BodyTite™ is a breakthrough re-contouring procedure that reduces stubborn fat while simultaneously tightening and firming your body. In some ways it is similar to liposuction, but with important differences. Rather, BodyTite™ first ‘melts’ the fat. By doing this, it leaves a smoother result when the unwanted pockets of fat are removed. Then in a second stage, radio-frequency heat is introduced under the skin. This boosts the production of collagen that leads to skin tightening.

Who is it for?

It’s a great option for both men and women with unwanted fat or skin laxity, and who may not want a major procedure with long recovery time.

BodyTite™ is ideal for many treatment areas with excess fat including: abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, arms, knees and neck.

What’s the procedure?

First, the areas being treated will be drawn out by your doctor. Local anaesthetic is then introduced into the areas through tiny incisions.

Once the area is numb, the BodyTite™ handpiece is inserted into the fat pad, to melt it. The fat is then removed and the heat-induced collagen starts to tighten the skin. The tiny incisions are then stitched, with a pad held in place to retain any minor seepage that may occur in the following 24 hours. You will need to wear a compression garment for the first two weeks day and night, removing it when you shower. Your first shower is allowed after 24 hours, and the stitches are removed after ten days.

On the other hand, Liposuction requires general anaesthesia and yet can still leave sagging skin. The scars are larger and you will need compression garments for up to six weeks. Lipo also requires up to 14 days’ recovery time.

How Many Treatments Will You Need?

Usually, one treatment is sufficient but occasionally some people need two. Depending on the size, up to three areas of the body can be treated as part of a single procedure. You will have follow-up checks after six weeks, three months, six months and a year.
