“Our philosophy is that happiness is the highest state of well-being, and it’s infused into everything we do. ” – Bliss
I’ve never had a full spa treatment myself (except for what I create at home), and I always admired the Bliss line whenever I walked around the store. I was most interested in trying out for some areas that I’d like a little help in. A cellulite-reducing cream that was to improve the appearance and firm within 60 days? I figured now was a great time to put it to the test.
Bliss Fat Girl Slim uses QuSome technology to get all “the good stuff” where it’s needed. What I mean by good stuff is caffeine and other skin-enhancing ingredients that firm and contour the skin. This reduces excess fluid retention to produce a slimmer, firmer look and feel.
I was introduced to QuSome technology right after college, when I worked in a cosmetics lab. In layman’s terms, it’s almost like a little bubble made of lipids that encases “the good stuff,” allowing for better penetration of the ingredients into the skin and in more effective amounts compared to old-school liposome technology. So, there you have it: cutting-edge technology delivering cellulite-fighting ingredients in the best way possible. Thank you, science!
One ingredient known to fight the appearance of cellulite is caffeine, which helps blood flow and acts as a diuretic. When excess fluids are pushed out, the skin looks firmer and cellulite is minimized. Increasing circulation also helps to lessen the appearance of those areas by flushing out toxins built up in cellulite pockets.
I can see how this totally ties in with massage and those crazy-expensive machines like Wellboxes. Massage also helps with fluid retention by pushing the fluids out of areas where it can accumulate, adding to the lumpy look. By doing daily massage and using Fat Girl Slim twice a day, I hoped that my thighs would look a little better.
I’ve been using the cream religiously, and I mean seriously using it twice a day and massaging my legs for at least 30 to 60 seconds each. I figured all the massaging couldn’t hurt – it could only help. I like the immediate feel you get from the cream. You do feel “energized,” in a way. Maybe it’s the eucalyptus or menthol or something along those lines that gives it that feel – but I do say that my quads look firmer, and this is just me looking “downward” at them.
I always felt like I retained more fluid on my quads than my hamstrings, and while no miracles have been performed, I am happy with how they look – most likely due to the daily massages with this cream. The other area of concern was the banana-roll area. While I normally have no real issues with it, after a year of not working out like I used to, I don’t really feel the same about it. Again, no miracles performed (unfortunately), but I do feel that the area smoothed out ever so slightly that I can tell in my glass closet door upon examination.
While I by no means think this could be a replacement for doing a little cardio and a lot of plies, certainly does have some visible effect on the skin. I think the best combo would be to use this when you really go for it at the gym! That way, you’re giving your problem areas the double whammo! They won’t even see it coming…..
