Home Remedies For Cellulite Removal Kelowna

Physical appearance is very important to most people in our world today. The importance of appearance has led to the present day physical fitness and nutrition awareness fad. This desire to look good has made many people judgmental towards being over-weight and obesity in general and those attitudes have caused many stereotypes to form. There are many stereotypical disturbing names used which can include unclean, unattractive, freakish, and lazy. Being over-weight or obese affects most people’s lives in one way or another due to various factors and it can be such a personal battle with oneself.  At COL Clinic you are not alone in your battle, and we are going to help you gain your confidence back.

A well-toned body with smooth contours often is a sign of fitness achieved by healthy diet and exercise. But exercise cannot always achieve results for individuals who have loose, sagging skin and uneven contours. Aging, sun damage, pregnancy and fluctuations in body weight as well as genetic factors contribute to poor tissue elasticity and may result in sagging of the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and upper arms.

If you desire a firmer, more youthful looking body contour, then Laser cellulite treatment can help you. It focuses safe light energy against annoying body fat cell deposits causing dimpling and skin surface irregularities.

Cellulite and Obesity: This type of fat accumulation is subcutaneously and fat is trapped by fibrous filaments under the skin. Its appearance is like orange peel. Moreover, cellulite is known as adipose edematous. Many authors consider cellulitis and obesity as the same, but this is incorrect. Obesity is hypertrophy and hyperplasia of adipocytes; however, there are several structural changes in cellulite including impaired and reduced micro circulation of the dermis and hyperplasia of adipocytes and connective tissue in addition to the above changes are seen in obesity.

A person with this type of obesity can be overweight or even in normal weight. Weight does not determine whether somebody has cellulite. People can be thin and have it. Although cellulite can occur anywhere on the body, the most common sites of cellulite are seen in thighs, hips, abdomen, flanks and back. Cellulite is different than normal fatty accumulation and it contains the retention of water, fat and waste substance with a jelly-like appearance. Cellulite is mostly seen in women and rarely in males. More than 80 percent of women have cellulite in different parts of their body. Cellulite occurs in most post pubertal females.

Intense Pulsed Light/ Light Heat Energy(LHE) Therapy for the Body Contouring:

During Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, a handheld medical wand is used to deliver a series of moderate pulses of intense pulsed light to the skin.  The IPL laser energy penetrates the outermost layer of skin and is absorbed by the pigment and vascular irregularities in the deeper tissue of the skin. This novel treatment uses intense pulsed light at specific wavelengths that are strongly absorbed by the collagen-containing and fatty layers of the skin. When this special light is absorbed, it transfers heat to this region. IPL/LHE stimulates the collagen production and blood circulation in damaged tissue. IPL/LEH delivers infrared light deep into the dermis. This light causes soft tissue coagulation which leads to remodeling of the collagen within the dermis. The remodeled collagen fills in wrinkles and sagging, for overall skin tightening.

You may experience lingering warmth, tightness, or redness in the treated area, which fades within a few hours of treatment. A few days after treatment with the skin color will become more uniform and will continue to improve with subsequent treatments. Depending on the skin condition treated, a series of five or more IPL laser treatments may be recommended at 2-3 week intervals. Intense pulsed light therapy can be performed on all areas of the body.

What are the post treatment symptoms?

Some of the most common IPL  effects include: Redness, Swelling, Minor Bruising, Itchiness, Peeling, and Scabbing. Most of these symptoms will disappears during next few days until 1-2 weeks.

Low Level Laser Therapy: In low level laser therapy specific laser wavelength and power are selected in order to get extensive tissue penetration depth. Laser photons easily pass through the tissue layers to a depth of several centimeters and affect cells. Laser therapy stimulates cells depending on the amount of energy of light photons and their absorption.

How Laser Therapy Affects and Treats Cellulite and Obesity in General?

Increases blood flow and circulation to tissue Increases lymphatic fluid and interstitial tissue fluid drainage Increases the metabolism in fat cell Increases the release of fat from fat cells Increases urinary excretion of waste products from the tissues Increases oxygen supply to the tissue Destroys the fibrous tissue surrounding the fatty mass Improves broccoli appearance of the skin by increasing the amount of collagen and reducing the fibrosis filaments Reduces the appetite and balances metabolism by stimulating acupoints

What Are the Benefits of Laser Therapy for Cellulite Reduction?

Safe and without side effects Non-invasive manipulation unlike surgery or injections Favorable cost-effectiveness No wounds or bleeding and there is no need for bandage No complications such as fat embolism, infection, or pain Reduce flaccid and loose skin compared to other methods Increase collagen and skin tightness

What Is the Procedure?

Initially you will consult with the laser therapy practitioner to determine if you are a good candidate for low level laser therapy. During this time period you will have the opportunity to ask questions or voice concerns you may have concerning this treatment. If it is determined you are a candidate for this procedure, there will be a few preliminary steps consisting of: paperwork, photography, and measurements. Proceeding, the client will need to expose the area to be treated and lie down. From here the treatment will be administered by placing low level lasers on the desired area(s) to be treated. It is recommended that a client will need a minimum of 4-8 treatments, dependent on the size and volume of treated area, for low level laser to achieve its potential effect. This treatment should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise. This treatment is non‐invasive and uses a cold output laser. During treatment no discomfort will be present; the patient will not feel thelaser except the pressure of hand-held devices and some sensation like tingling. However, the light will be visible.

How Many Treatment Sessions Are needed?

Usually 1 sessions every 2 weeks. The number of sessions is approximately 4-8 sessions depending on the client. With clients that have more than 10-15lb excess weight, then one or two more courses of treatment is required. The maximum treatment area is up to 5 areas depending on the position of the fat accumulation and client request. For some clients, 10 sessions of therapy can be used once a week if they follow the diet correctly.
