Tea Tree Versus Benzyl Peroxide
The trials also carried out comparative trials with Benzyl Peroxide lotion, an over the counter treatment for breakouts.
What was found, was that Benzyl Peroxide created some inflammation within the skin tissues, whilst Tea Tree gel showed fewer side effects.
These findings are quite significant! They show that natural components within Tea Tree oil, can be especially useful when treating pimples and an oily, acneic skin.

Interestingly, the microbiological effects of Tea Tree were further enhanced, by adding Lemon Myrtle oil to the solution, this showed even greater benefits on pimples and P. Acnes bacteria.

Balancing: Many oils can help to mop up excessive sebum (oil), working as a preventative treatment, returning the skin back to its natural state.
You only want to use these oils as a spot treatment, or in very minute dilutions, because if you have signs of sensitivity, they could potentially do more harm then good.
