The University of Missouri-Kansas City envisions growth that benefits students, faculty and the community. Proposed capital projects in the 2014 master plan include:

• Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Teaching Facility Renovations. Renovations and strategic additions to the Biological Sciences and Spencer Chemistry buildings on the Volker campus and the School of Medicine building on the Hospital Hill campus would address enrollment capacity and deferred maintenance needs.
• 215 Volker Free Enterprise Center. The state-of-the-art hub for entrepreneurs would serve the School of Computing and Engineering and the Henry W. Bloch School of Management, as well as area universities, research institutes, industries, innovators and K-12 schools.
• Downtown Campus for the Arts. Moving the Conservatory of Music and Dance downtown would energize the surrounding cultural district and attract the next generation of arts performers and leaders.
• Translational Clinical Research Building. The Hospital Hill facility would house researchers working to turn discoveries into treatments, cures and solutions that improve health and the quality of life.
• Troost Avenue Development. Improvements along this thoroughfare would give an economic and aesthetic boost to a blighted urban neighborhood.

The 2014 master plan also suggests additional classroom, library, and visual and performing arts renovations to help ensure a superior education for all students for years to come.
