Radio Frequency Contouring Radiofrequency (RF) treatments are procedures involving the use of a radiofrequency (RF) energy device to heat up and tighten tissue to boost blood flow and break down cellulite and fat. The radiofrequency energy heats the skin without damaging it, in order to break down fatty cells and stimulate collagen production, which improves skin tone and elasticity. Besides on the face, radiofrequency treatments can be used to treat excess pockets of fat on the stomach, hips and thighs, reduce cellulite and tighten saggy skin caused by weight loss or pregnancy. The treatment is very safe and has minimal downtime. What is RF Contouring used to treat? • Skin tightening on the face, arms, abdomen, buttocks and leg • Cellulite treatment • Fat reduction (not elimination) on the arms, abdomen, buttocks and legs • Complete body contouring • Pre liposuction skin tightening • Post liposuction smoothing Treatment regimen: FACE: It is recommended to have a course of 4 sessions(once every 3 – 4 weeks) for facial tightening. In our BOOTCAMP program with our combined therapy treatment, a patient will often receive 6 treatments over the course of 6 weeks with recommendation of 1 treatment per 4 weeks thereafter. BODY: A treatment session can be expected to last about 25-40 minutes and are usually recommended once every 1 – 2 weeks with an average of 8 sessions in a body treatment program. Not to be used in: As long as you are generally healthy and don’t have any skin diseases or infections in the area treated, there are few medical reasons why patients should not undergo this treatment. Although there is no evidence that this treatment is harmful for pregnant women, you would generally be advised to wait until after you have given birth before embarking upon a course of treatment. More importantly, people with electrical devices e.g., pacemakers, or metal implants e.g., artificial metal hip joints, heart valves or dental plates, cannot be treated because RFcurrent flowing through the body may interfere with these devices or heat up metal implants, which could be dangerous.
